Becoming in the Storm

This work is inspired by a Romantic 19th-century aesthetic, characterized by a sense of movement and transformation. The painting depicts a storm or a sand wind where shapes and non-shapes intertwine in a chaotic flow, suggesting a process of becoming. It is a landscape poised between reality and imagination, where nature transforms into a symbol.

At the center of the composition, a figure gradually emerges, reminiscent of a feline, perhaps a lion—a symbol of strength, power, and majesty. At the same time, the outline of a female body can be discerned, evoking femininity as a creative and transformative force. This duality—the lion and the woman—represents the essence of becoming, the ability to continually change and be reborn.

The warm tones of the sand blend with the blue hues of the sky, creating a contrast that emphasizes the tension between stability and change, between form and non-form. The fluid and dynamic texture of the painting invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the movement, to grasp the sense of transformation that is an integral part of life.

“Becoming in the Storm” is a work that celebrates transformation and the power of symbolism, merging elements of nature and humanity into an image that evolves before the viewer’s eyes, offering a visual meditation on the beauty and complexity of becoming.
